GLASS – LIGHT AS MATERIAL

‚Recent Development: Nora Mona Bach is increasingly extending her practice of drawing into space. Glass becomes a material of layering, superimposition and translucency. Drawn traces accumulate, overlap, emerge and disappear again. Different layers and relationships become visible only through movement within the space and changing light. The work is therefore not conceived as a fixed image, but as a temporal process in which perception unfolds through the interplay of position, movement, light and material. Something is slowly taking shape.





This development is closely connected to her engagement with architecture-related art and site-specific projects, including works in the context of Art in Architecture. Here, drawing becomes a spatial and material practice that responds directly to architectural structures and their conditions. Intensive material research is central to this process, opening up new ways of experiencing space through light, surface, transparency, weight and physical presence. Her works seek to create spaces of sensory engagement in which perception is not merely visual, but becomes a physical and deeply embodied experience.‘
